Archbishop Diarmuid Martin wishes to make it known that Clive Lynn, also known as Cathal O'Loinn, formerly a priest of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe USA, was found guilty and dismissed from the clerical state on 12th November 2004 by Pope John Paul II, as a penalty for the sexual abuse of minors.  He is forbidden to present himself as a priest, wear clerical attire or perform acts of ministry that are reserved to the sacred priesthood.  The faithful are to be alerted in particular that Mr. Lynn or O'Loinn is not a priest in good standing and is consequently prohibited from celebrating the Eucharist or performing any priestly ministry.
